My flash banner.

Hello.

Today I made two ideas, both rough sketches of what I want my flash banner to look like.

Although i'm not the best artist I gave a brief idea of what my banners will be about. It will be a somewhat comedic contact lens advert, aimed at young adults and teenagers. My marketing technique is to be humourous as this motif is popular these days, for example, the money supermarket advert.

"Car Insurance Vs Home Insurance | #Epicsquads Director’S Cut | Moneysupermarket TV Ad". YouTube. N.p., 2017. Web. 21 Mar. 2017.

The second advert I made is about tobacco and again, it's satire.

People who smoke already know the risks of smoking, so i'll highlight this obvious factor in my advert. Also using recent popular politics to gain an audience will give my product attention. Also the language I use in my advert is provoking and eye-catching. It isn't typical, which makes it stand out from the crowd.

"Flintstones Cigarette Commercial". YouTube. Web. 21 Mar. 2017.

This is an old commerical with the Flintstones advertising Winston cigarettes.

They use a popular cartoon and comedy in order to sell their product. At the time, this content wasn't so shocking but if it was advertised in this day and age it would cause national outrage. With my commercial, my technique is to use shock factor and humor to sell my product. Making headlines, good or bad, will increase my viewer population by a long shot.

I decided to go with the cigarette advert because of it's shock value and because people usually decide to ignore flash banners so this particular advert will get people talking.

The red button on the flash banner directs you to my hypothetical website where the product is available for purchase. This allows the viewer to become instantly gratified and alludes them to the model (which in this instance, is tobacco.)

I think that the process of making my flash banner went extremely well considering that I have very little experience with adobe animate (you can see my tutorial on my last post.)

The flow of the animation is very clean and so is the quality of the flash banner. I think these are two concepts i've grasped well when making a flash product. I think I could've slowed down the speed of the banner as the text flies past quite quickly and the size of the font so the audience can read the small print easily. Another thing is compared to my practice flash banner, there are no errors in continuity.

My button works accurately and leads to my blog page or what would be my cigarette website if it was real. I've colored the button red so it is very visible and apparent to the audience. I could have had text state that the button leads to the website, or an indication that you should click the button, which is something I will definitely include next time.

My target audience are smokers, who know the risks of smoking and are tired of being reminded of the consequences. My advert uses satire to lure tobacco users into buying/trying a newer brand. The box is bright pink and attractive, glamourising the use of tobacco.
