Today we worked on an example of a flash banner.
WIX unfortunately doesn't allow you to click the buttons as they haven't enabled a flash player add-on. This is how the image plays through, however.
Each button (the blue, white and yellow rectangle) allows you to see each separate image inside the frame. The first one displays the Cola cup, second the open happiness text and lastly, the bubble text.

To explain myself shortly, we were given three images (Cola, Open Happiness and Bubbles.) We had to firstly create a keyframe on layer one and drag the image onto the stage. We then had to set the Colour Style to Alpha. You then set the percentage of alpha depending if you want the image to contrast in (100%) or fade to white (0%.)

We needed to use buttons for our blog so I created another layer on the timeframe.

I then created three rectangles and modified them and converted them into symbols so they are clickable and can hyperlink to other screens. We had to label each one with specific names in order to code them later on.

To make the buttons themselves clickable and interchangeable you need to code. This was my first time coding so it was rather difficult troubleshooting through errors such as spelling or linking the words. We had to again create another layer. After locking the layer, I proceeded to go to Windows > Actions and input the coding that our course leader had provided.
After playing through my flash banner, I was pleased by the result since it was my first time making one. It was disastrous trying to figure out how to program it at first, though.
WHAT I LEARNT:
- how to program a flash banner
- how to modify buttons
- how to modify action controls and code
WHAT I COULD DO BETTER NEXT TIME:
- follow instructions more concisely
- take time fixing mistakes instead of settling for sub-par flash imagery
