individual project - "you"

At the end of year, we will make a final major project.

I decided to use footage from my personal camera to try and create a short film with a french-noir feel.

It is a 'subtitled' film though it has music played in the background. But the sound is appropriate as it sounds sort of lonely, correlating to the words on screen.

I added a grainy feature to make it seem nostalgic almost, and I wanted to give off the vibe that there was (is) a past between myself and the characters in my story. I used a black and white filter to give off a desolate aura, as using color would look too happy and wouldn't appear nicely against the grain.

This project was improvised as I have just complied random clips together and added a dialogue (storyline) to make them fit together. Obviously my final major project will be scripted alongside a storyboard, location report, etc. This was just in good fun for practice as i've only made four video projects before (stop motion, documentary, trailer, shot type video.)

It is important to upload your own footage and videos to this blog as you can build up a portfolio style.
