Hello.

Today me and my promotional team went to film in brixton. We went out on the twelfth of october to do some practice shots, but we didn't shoot anything worth keeping as we had a lot of panning of the camera and nothing much else. The day of practise shots helped us because when we went to shoot today, we learnt from our mistakes and took a variety of different shots from different angles.

Here are some photos I took while out filming.

We mainly focused on the bright, vibrant visuals of brixton, heading out to the market first. The market was fairly packed but we navigated through it easily as we knew our location (thanks to our location reports) and asked people if we could film their shopfronts and produce, which most people thankfully obliged to. We then moved on to Pop Brixton and focused on the food aspect there, showing off the people that make pastries etc. I found filming in a busy, public place exciting and I think it will add to my very little filming knowledge. I found it easier than the last times shooting as I knew how to adjust the ISO and how to white balance from when I did my first mini project, which just shows that experience is key to succeeding in level 3 media.

We wanted to go to windrush square next, but to our dismay, our lecturer emma had put a SD card with only 2GBs in our camera, so we ran out of storage space. In retrospect, we could've checked the SD cards before leaving college, but that's something for us to think about next time we film.

We headed out to brixton again. This time, me and shreene went to get foley sound for the underground scenes, and vox-pop interviews from people who live in brixton and have a sense of community. Tatum and preaya went to film the few scenes we couldn't get yesterday. I personally plan to use the interviews to put over my video clips as it will give my film a promotional feel.

In conclusion, I think filming went well, especially for our first out-of-college production. We had a lot of new responsibilities (looking after expensive equipment and navigating london with it, making location and shot reports) and we had to work together outside of course hours in order to grasp what kind of film we wanted to make,

I do regret missing the first day when the promotional video project was set, but it was out of my control and I think I made up for it by trying my hardest to catch up with my team and building the concept for our video!!!
