Hello.

I was absent on the dates where my film class excitingly had access to the green screen and lighting room. Though I haven't any video of me practicing green screen and lighting techniques, I have been provided with a powerpoint presentation and a variety of different sources to help educate and inform me about film noir and the technicalities of it.

Lighting

Lighting can change the way you look at a scene, and what emotions the scene may portray to an audience. Different angles and positioning of lights can alter the effectiveness of a scene. Also, the amount of light used is key in making a scene effective. Lighting can help us work out the mood, temperature, and the time of day in the scene being shown.

Hard (Bright) lighting is usually used to show happiness, resolution or intensity in a scene.

Soft (Dim) lighting is used to indicate sadness, suspense or again, intensity.

Three Point Lighting

Here is a video describing what three point lighting is.
